I’m Back

Hello

I’m back here after a long time. Since 1st August 2005 to 30th July 2006 . I struggled a lot and learned lot from my experience. Well I would really like to share my diabolic training experiences with all bloggers in future as I don’t want anybody to go through such sort of slavery in London.

After that I just got busy and now just back from long tour of India. I travelled all the way to south India then up in north India and back to London.I have got nice pictures from Bannerghatta National Park,Bangalore which are here. I love Bangalore and every time my tour starts from this city of traffic jams formerly known as garden city, Silicon Valley, etc.

Bannerghatta National park India

Lot of things are changed in life. The latest is that Conran credit card has decided to pull out from 1% cash back market which is really a jolt to small money savers. This small money spender is now on sail to search for a new good credit card and honestly none of the cash back card is straight like conran .The only simple way seems to me is that ditch the credit card once a year and apply via Quidco to get the cash back.I have just applied for post office credit card and bagged cash back from quidco.Another reason is that post office credit card doesn’t charge surcharge for overseas transactions unlike hsbc, natwest and mbna cards.

Approaching the end of year

After long time again back on the internet. Life is very busy plus I really don’t want to write about the reality which I experienced in training(2005-2006).Now It’s time to enjoy the Christmas holidays .Many things changed since I posted last time like 07744 no longer free from O2 ,etc. I learned from my Ghanaian friend 2 years ago that never afraid from the change. I have successfully applied this principle in life and feel more positive.

Some good deals on mobiles are running in the market:

Also check www.reestitmutton.co.uk , www.mobiles4everyone.com

T-mobile-12 month free deals(Relax 35 12month contract) –Good for Australia mobile callers as T-mobile still offers free 07744 access. The yourcallworld number (07744 200 011) works Monday to Friday .Also works for UAE 8AM to 8PM Monday to Friday but still the quality is not good at all.

Biing.com also offers free access to Australia Mobiles through 07744 700 300 as claimed on their website .Don’t use their other services as you are liable to charged

Coolnewmobile.co.uk/phoneboxdirect.com- Good deal on Nokia 6230i , Motorola

E2save/OSPS/cpw-Look for Samsung d600 clearance, Nokia 6111, Motorola V3i, Nokia 3120

The Indians unique ability to suffer silently that’s makes us different from others.

O2 deals

Nokia 6233 – www.dialaphone.co.uk/youatwork 7 months free plus 45 GBP additional cash back plus 20gbp for referring yourself if you are already a member of DAP.

Sony K800i-via you at work –good deal / clearance offers are from e2save on virgin network .

Good CPW/E2save/Onestopphoneshop clearance offers

Worth to look and most of the Sony w800i on clearance comes out with 512mb card.

Also India callers use the various 0844/0845/0870 numbers to call India on o2 bundle minutes.

08700415373 –www.talk4longer.net or 08700415404 www.simplyfone.com

Check callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com for other 24/7 numbers.

Bank Card for foreign Transactions

Again Nationwide is still unbeatable for foreign usage with one of the best exchange rates. I used extensively in India & got one of the best exchange rates equivalent to given on xe.com.

Credit cards

Best for foreign transactions

Nationwide,Post office Credit card (Source:moneysupermarket.com),Lombard direct(only Available to Lombard direct customers)

Cash back card : conran card (recommended on MSE).Although i’m still struggling to get this card as already too much balance on other MBNA card .I have observed that MBNA is more lenient towards students than other credit card providers.

Broadband For students

Not a good idea to move to Tiscali or other cheap provider as they do charge for BB connection if you move your house .AOL move the BB to new address for free and Plus.net charged 5.00 for moving the BB.

Beaware of AOL rip off: AOL website displays that their broadband works only with selected routers but this is not the case.MY AOL BB works even on d-link router so no need to sign any contract. It’s best for students as if you order without router it is contract free. The customer service AOL offer is very poor and be prepare for long waiting times before you connected to right person.

And don’t forget Quidco.com before you go for Christmas shopping.

Life is a Test

Finally gearing up for the driving test .The whole life seems to be test & I need a rest!

Kabira in the market place, wishes welfare of all
Neither friendship nor enmity with anyone at all

The Three important things

Before I start for any tour I make sure that I have all of these in my bag. I started my tour for Scotland ,Cumbria via Birmingham four weeks ago .I realised on the way that toothbrush is missing from my bag. The other companions who are also bachelors told me WHO CARES! Yeah they were right who cares when you are stranger. Any way I did managed to buy one brush from Morrison’s in Livingstone .The Cumbria is marvellous and lake is so beautiful that it is difficult to express in words. Then on another weekend I started towards the Birmingham I left my mobile phone charger in London .The mobile phone battery run out so for me the life was stopped .I can’t buy the phone charger like toot brush moreover it was not cheaper. Another week I left for Kent to which my memories are closely associated .I discovered the horror in morning when I realised again toothbrush is missing .Life is all experience. We all learn from each other experiences. So from now onwards I will always double check about charger, phone and brush. Without these three life seems to be incomplete.

Deepawali The Indian X-Mas

Deepawali is one of the sacred festivals in celebrated by the Sikh and Hindu communities. Diwali is also the first day of the New Year according to Hindu calendar. The more information about the deepawali can be found on the festival website. Since 6 years, I’m celebrating the diwali alone unfortunately due to academics .I hope that next year I will manage to celebrate diwali with my family after passing the last stage of training. Co-incidentally my appraisal was due this week and tutor said my progress is satisfactory, but still you are a  sailor and hopefully will be able to sail the boat next year.

But this time the shopping for diwali celebrations are disrupted by the bombings in New Delhi and derailment of 7 bogies of delta express in Andhra region. I feel really sad for the families who lost their loved ones in the festival time and express my condolences .

Gifts2India-I have never used the Indian websites to send the gifts to India .Simple reason-the prices of indian websites  are indigestible for me.The rates are surprisingly more costly than the British Indian sweet shops.Lot of shops can be found online by google but none of them is cheap. If anybody knows then please leave the links in comments section.

Internet Service problems

Just able to connected from the home to broadband. Since last 30 days I am trying to connect. I gave order to the Bulldog communications about 25 days ago even before moving to London accommodation and I was shocked that still the connection was at stage 1.So from some insider I got the clue that it may take up to Two months to get the bulldog in this area. The Bulldog lied to me that they will install with in 3 weeks .So I tried to contact to the customer services three times and finally I got through them after a waiting time of about 80 minutes(total 120). My manager suggested to just cancel the connection as the customer service is a big problem and I may face a similar problem in the future. Indeed who has got the time to wait for such long times on the phone. Then again hunt started for the alternative connection and finally I selected plus net. I ordered it on the 7th August but due to some address problems bank declined the payment so the service was delayed further. Then finally on 19th of August it was connected after address problem solved on 18th . But then problem started with D-Link wireless router and I was not able to use it until today.I have to call the two friends in separate rounds  who dedicated about 4 hours to sort out the problem.I think it was my mistake to buy the D-link router in order to cut the costs. It is always desirable to buy it from the Broadband service provider as they provide full customer support for the hardware and if one has purchased his own then they not ! Sometimes cost saving exercise (inspired by daily metro article) proves be to too costly .I am highly thankful to my friends who dedicated their time to sort out the connection problem which was not was mission impossible for me. I found that  Plus net customer service is really excellent as compare to Tiscali(worst) and UK online (not bad).I will always remember Tiscali (big liar) when the service gone off line for 10 days and they refused to accept that the problem is with the TISCALI ADSL not with the modem .Interestingly at the same time the services was off in my friends house who was also on the Tiscali. They wasted our precious 45 minutes by telling us whilst there was no ADSL signal. So I hate companies like Tiscali which lie to the customers. The Bulldog is too greedy that they make the promise which they can’t fulfil in time. The newsprint reports are suggesting that they are going to be the No 2 in UK telecommunications but in reality the things are different  as if see the bulldog customer service and compare it with plusnet and BT. So it is better to look for the cost effectiveness rather than going for the cost and media reports.

Air Travel to Amritsar/Useful links to websites

Air Travel to Punjab From Birmingham/London/UK

Dear friends unfortunately most of airlines which fly to Amritsar except Singapore airlines are crap and robbing the customers by charging the exorbitant price for providing the fourth class service. The first grade airlines like British, virgin, air India, etc charge only 450 pounds average return to India. But to Amritsar crap airlines like air Slovakia charges 500 pounds in a peak season as well as passengers are not guaranteed whether they will reach safely or not. Even the food as well as service provided during these flights is horrible and we are put to such inhumane conditions. I think this is specialty of Indians to suffer which makes us unique in this world.

I don’t know when Indian government will contruct new  international standard airport in Punjab. One can see the stray dogs roaming on the runway of Amritsar airport. I don’t know whether it is the greed of the airlines or the passenger’s voice has attracted the Singapore airlines to Amritsar!

Books

I always prefer to buy the books from www.amazon.com due to disparity in the prices from high street /offline retailers. The other sites are www.sapnaonline.com ,www.abebooks.co.uk.

Electronics

Well there are lot of websites and prices are changing in a night but still the sites worth to have a look are www.amazon.co.uk,www.ebuyer.co.uk,www.dabs.com ,www.comet.co.uk and powerful search engine www.dealtime.co.uk.

Laptop Insurance in UK

I would like to recommend  http://www.blackfriarsgroup.com for laptop only. They are cheapest in providing laptop insurance in UK.

Credit Cards in UK

For persons with bad credit history capitolone is best.

For others nationwide is the best card.(www.nationwide.co.uk)

But for best results please check www.uswitch.co.uk .

Pharmacy

 www.pharmacy.org

Being a pharmacy graduate I would like to recommend the community pharmacy shops to buy your stuff rather than going to the corporate shops. These big corporate look very nice from outside but they are monster for their employees. This is a fact and it is obvious from the depression levels of the employees working in these multinationals.

Telephone calls From UK to anywhere in the world

From UK to India ( 6p per minute) the best and cheapest service at present is provided by www.1899.com .They also offer 3p call maximum call charge to landlines to UK,USA,Canada & Germany and talk as long as you like.

Finally

      I love India
