Royal Atlantic /Flyjet Amritsar Flights
Flyjet FLIGHTS TO AMRITASR-BAKU-BIRMINGHAM-GATWICK
Yesterday I went to
Birmingham Airport to receive my friends who are on the FJ413 Amritsar-Birmingham .They appreciated the quality of service provided by the Royal Atlantic/Flyjet staff .Flyjet has named the Amritsar flight as Royal Atlantic. One month ago I had purchased the tickets for them and I assured my friends that flight will be hopefully better than the Russian flights. I was worrying whether the choice made by me was o.k. as I don’t want them to suffer like I suffered last time .Although the fare was 50 pounds higher but in view of quality of service, it is ok.Also No fuss with weight like other airlines. The only downside is that they fly twice a week and no flexibility. Royal Atlantic operates No Show No refund policy. In fact, the policy of Flyjet is crystal clear about refund unlike another airline (Amritsar-Bratislava-Birmingham) which changes its ticket rules once you buy the ticket. So book your tickets only if you are sure about travelling plans. You can buy your tickets directly from the airline or from your nearest travelling agent. I told my travel agent that what is the point in purchasing ticket from you when we can get the tickets from the Royal Atlantic/Flyjet? So I got 15 pounds further off on each ticket. So check the price on airline website and buy ticket from travel agent if he agrees to give the discount.
Another way is to buy the ticket from agent in Jalandhar, India. From India the ticket costs 25,000 INR only (March 2005). International students in UK and dependants can buy ticket from India and there are no legal restrictions on them. Do not worry about the postage! They will give you one PNR number which you need to present to your UK Flyjet agent, so in turn you can save at least 100 pounds. Last time in December 2004, I had purchased the tickets from India and I saved 110 pounds. You may get great discount for all the other airlines for Amritsar except Air India and Singapore Airlines when you book ticket from India.
On my return journey from Amritsar on the 9th April 05, Flight 411, we encountered delays at Baku which resulted in passengers sitting in there seats for over 3 HOURS which in turn made the fligt time over 12 HOURS, not only that the FOOD WAS ABSOLUTLT REVOLTING I WOULD NOT HAVE GIVEEN THIS FOOD TO MY WORST ENEMIES DOG IT WAS THAT BAD, ALL VEGETAIRAN, WHICH CLEVER DICK ORDERED VEG FOR ALL THE PASSENGERS ?i COULD GET A GOOD QUALITY FROZEN MEAL FROM ICELAND FOR £2. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT WE PAY MAJOR ESTABLISHED AIRLINE FARES BUT GET A VERY VERY POOR SERVICE.(I PAID £490).
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE THE OUTFIT WHO IS ORGANISING THESE FLIGHT IS JUST TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE DEMAND THAT PASSENGERS WANT TO FLY TO AMRITSAR RATHER THAN DELHI AND THERE SHORT SIGHTEDNESS IN NOT PROVIDING A QUALITY OF SERVICE.
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU ARE MAKING A FAST BUCK QUICK, WEEL GOOD LUCK TO YOU BUT SHALL NOT BE RECOMMENDING YOUR FLIGHT SERVICE TO AMRITSAR.
I HERE AIR INDIA WLL BE FLYING THERE VERY SOON.
Dear Mr Rai
I have not recommended Flyjet anywhere in my web post. Please see this link for further information if u like. The only problem with Russians and Charted flights is that they are highly unreliable .They are bit moody in service and it is sheer luck when we get the good service. These airlines does not guaranty you good service at all .No doubt they treat us as animals what I felt during my last visit to India. This is same story with Uzbekistan & Turkmenistan . At present no good airline is flying to Amritsar and very soon air India will fly to Amritsar. But do not expect British Airways like service from Air India but they will treat us as a customer not like animal.
Anyway I have also vowed that I will never fly again with these airlines and will spend more money to fly with Air India or will go to Delhi airport.
Also I travelled between Delhi and Bangalore last time and I feel that Indian Airlines and jet airways are far better than Slovakia. Perhaps in future the Indian companies will start flying to Amritsar and this will ease our difficulties.
Also see copy of email (10th December 2004) which I sent to Air slovakia about the dubious conduct by UK Slovakia Agent. I never got the reply from these blokes .
Hello
Dear CS
I have booked the ticket from India for Birmingham to amritsar.at the time of booking your Indian agent has told us that the charges will be 3500 INR for cancellation .I got the tickets from your UK office by giving the web ids obtained from India. Now when i presented the ticket for cancellationthey said the charges will be 120 GBP. These charges are totally contrary to what the Indian agent said at the time of booking .Now your Indianagent has issued the statement that 3500 INR is for the tickets which arenot issued. And as you have got the tickets the charges will be 120 GBP.This type of dubious conduct is not appropriate. I booked the ticket afterconfirming all the charges but later on if and buts are introduced. Please direct your agents to give clear picture of charges at the time of booking. They changed there statements and charges as they got the money
from us.See i also enquired from the Air Swiss and KLM (BHX-DEL)from
sondhi travels in India and there cancellation charges was 4500 INR .
so i decided to book the air Slovakia and moreover the klm and air Swissdoes not fly to amritsar .The charges of these airlines are uniformwhether we print the ticket or not. But in the case of air Slovakia thecharges are unreliable and every day new statement by your agents .
To sell the airline seats your agents lie about the charges. This type ofpractice will effect the airline in march when 32 new flights are startingto India. If you have told at the time of booking that regarding theprinting I havent collected the ticket from UK.i think even if IHavent collected the ticket the charges are going to be 120gbp as your jalandhar agent is saving his side by issuing the statement that the
charges 3500inr is for uncollected/soft tickets (web).
Your website says your objective is to deliver a good quality service. But this type of conduct is reflecting something else. This is era of evidence based management not the theoretical based. People will believe what they see not what your website say.
Regarding UK Air Slovakia GSA agent he thought that I am a layman. He said I had bookedyour tickets .he is ignorant of the terms issuance, booking and
reservation.I studied law and as per law the term reservation, booking,Issuances are different terms. I collected the tickets and booking was placed from India. Instead of issuing such type of statement he can simply say that charges are 120gbp irrespective of your place of booking.
Please do reply about your anomalies in charges.
Thanks
Kind regards
A Arora
I travelled to Amritsar from Gatwick during the Easter period 05. All was well until we got to Birmingham. obviously the flight had been overbooked and many people were left stranded at Birmingham airport. i met a young lady who had to leave the rest of her family behind because there were no seats available. As the Birmingham passengers boarded the aircraft, it was evident that families had been split up and that young children were seated by themselves, or parents had to ask other travellers to swap seats. The ground staff that boarded the plane were also very rude. I wonder if it is because we are Indians? the food was rubbish- only vegetarian- pasta cooked with minimal effort. There was no inflight entertainment as the screens were not working. The crew were getting frustrated and being rude. The flight itself was terrible- no legroom, seats crammed together and hardley anywhere to move around. A likely DVT case! When we got to Amritsar, we had to wait ages at immigration, im sure that the officials dont know how to read and write and just nod their heads like chickens. We also had to wait about 2 hours to get our luggage. For the return we were told by the agent that the flight would go at 3pm on 10/4 and not 12.15pm as advertised. Then we were told that the flight was not going at all and to phone on monday to find out when it would be going. After a lot of arguing with the Agent, he said to turn up on Sunday and try to get the flight. We waited outside the airport for 3 hours in the sun before we were allowed in. Others had been there for 6-7 hours and had not been told about the delay. When we were finally allowed in, people started pushing in at the front. There was alot of arguing and eventually calm was restored. Why is there not a civilised procedure at Amritsar to check in. The ground staff are clueless and just want to make a quick buck. I would never recommend anyone to travel with Flyjet or into Amritsar airport unless it is with a reputable airline and only when the new terminal has been completed.
